Captain – Jody Ducworth
I’ve always loved everything about the water! I moved to Charleston in 1995 from my hometown of Anderson, South Carolina, to attend the College of Charleston—and that’s when my salt life truly began. After spending 18 years teaching high school Spanish at a local public school on James Island, I decided to switch gears and pursue my passion full-time as a fishing and tour guide.
I’m on the water nearly every day, exploring the creeks, rivers, bays, and open ocean. I genuinely enjoy sharing the beauty and wonder of our local waterways with guests. You can trust that I’ll do everything I can to make your time on the water a memorable experience!

Captain – Nick Smillie
Growing up in Charleston, I’ve spent my life exploring the Lowcountry’s coastal waters—surfing, fishing, diving, and sailing every chance I got. My passion for marine ecosystems led me to earn a degree in Environmental Science from the University of South Carolina, and after graduating, I traveled the world teaching marine conservation education from the Dominican Republic to Catalina Island.
Chuck Town eventually called me home, where I earned my master’s degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies from the College of Charleston and began a career in fisheries management. In 2024, I earned my 25-ton Master Captain’s License and started cruising with Jody!
With over a decade of experience as a tour guide, I take pride in connecting people to the unique estuarine ecosystems, rich history, and natural beauty of Charleston. Whether we’re navigating winding creeks or spotting dolphins in the harbor, I aim to make every trip informative, inspiring, and unforgettable.

Captain – Allen Bartleson
Growing up in Charleston, I began inshore fishing the Charleston Harbor and surrounding areas at a very young age with my grandfather, and I quickly fell in love with it. Being on the water is what I am passionate about – whether inshore, offshore, fly-fishing, duck hunting, or just cruising our beautiful waterways. I have traveled to various states and countries to fish, and being able to share the beauty of our local waterways is something that never gets old. This area offers vast opportunities for fishing and exploring, and I am constantly working to expand my knowledge of our local fishery. I strive to put every effort into providing you the best experience possible.
